I'm proud to be part of the 50th anniversary Art Festival Fine Art Gallery, the Firehouse Gallery in Sunset Beach this Mother's Day weekend. All the art is for sale, and it's an excellent way to spend Mother's Day Weekend - 13th & 14th May, 2017. Free entry on 12th Street, live music and food all weekend! I'll have three paintings for sale in the gallery. Original art only. See you there - opening night and awards ceremony is Friday 12th May. Come early to buy your favorite painting ahead of the weekend crowds! The Festival is huge, with tons of artist booths all up and down the pedestrian area as well as the gallery I'll be in. I can't wait!
Being an Artist means being a Problem Solver
I always laugh when people say I should go paint to relax. Painting is a process and it's problem solving. I have to be present and concentrating and willing to tackle issues as they arise. That's why I love painting: it's not relaxing, it's all consuming, and having my mind taken over by the process feeds my soul. I found a solution to the scratch in the paper above, and the finished drawing is on my Faces page, and is now an award winning artwork for the Huntington Beach Art League.
What better way to enjoy a work of art than having it make the statement in the room? The beauty of original art is that it can convey in one image the look you want to achieve in any room of your home. Contact me now for details of archival quality prints for your home. email@example.com
i seem to love studios -art and Pilates, so why not combine both? The wonderful owner of LOVE Pilates, Dena Lombardo, is hosting an art show featuring my work Saturday, April 30th, from 2 to 5 PM. I'll have lots of paintings available for sale so I hope you can stop by! The address is Love Pilates, Suite 105, 16161 Springdale St, Huntington Beach, CA 92649.
New Year, new portfolio! Starting out this year with many new paintings that will debut in the Spring. Watch this space! Have a great 2016 everyone!
I thought I'd try a night sky landscape, this time with no horizon line, as if I just stopped and looked up. Acrylic on wrapped canvas.
Update: I've been looking at this painting in my studio and I've decided it needs a diver: watch this space.
I remember walking around the Art Gallery at the OC Fair a few years ago feeling intimidated and frustrated because it felt so out of my reach: the quality of art at the show is exemplary!
Today I'm happy as can be: I entered three paintings and ALL THREE were accepted! I'm just so excited, and hope lots of you visit the Gallery this summer! All three are for sale, so contact me if you are interested!
I'm feeling nostalgic for all the places I've travelled to and all the places I've lived in my life. Portraits on maps have always appealed as they add an abstract element that is both personal and private. Here's a study I call 'London Lad', a canvas mixed media collage. What I learned was the drawing needs to be as accurate as possible - you get one chance or you mess up the map! This is London of course -my Big City first Love 💗
Spontaneous sketch while on vacation to test out time lapse. I think I'll try and get it together to do a time lapse painting video. Should be fun!
I love California clouds. I think this State has some of the prettiest clouds I've seen. I'm obsessed. I have a lot to master, but I'm enjoying the process and the freedom of painting the big sky.
Sharing some thoughts with you all, thanks for visiting!
